Howard Stern is pushing back after Kim Kardashian claimed in a recent episode of The Kardashians that he had publicly questioned whether her 2016 Paris robbery was real.
During the episode, Kardashian, 45, recalled Stern “mocking it all the time” and insisting she fabricated the event. But Stern says the receipts tell a different story. On December 9, The Howard Stern Show posted archival audio disproving Kardashian’s accusation.
“She accused me of saying that she faked her Paris robbery attempt,” Stern, 71, said. “Fortunately for anybody in this case, our show is taped, so we went back and looked up what I said — and nothing could be further from the truth.”
The resurfaced clip shows Stern and co-host Robin Quivers reacting to Kardashian’s robbery in 2016, describing the ordeal as “frightening” and expressing sympathy for her. While they acknowledged that online speculation questioned the robbery’s authenticity, both reiterated that they did not believe it was staged.
“If it is a farce, then they should go to jail for that,” Stern said at the time — before clarifying that he did not think Kardashian fabricated the attack. Quivers agreed.
On his show this week, Stern said he was surprised Kardashian would invoke his name when he can easily verify his past statements.
“I’ve said so many awful things in my career,” he joked. “You don’t need to make stuff up. You can certainly find every awful thing I’ve said — it’s no secret.”
Kardashian’s comments aired as the latest episode chronicled her emotional confrontation with the men responsible for the 2016 armed robbery, which occurred in a Paris hotel where she was bound, threatened, and robbed of millions of dollars in jewelry.
